Dinner in a delicatessen
It is not a function room and we are not going to dress it up as one. It is the shop — the shelves still behind you, the blossom still overhead, the lemon cloth down the middle of one long table.
Which turns out to be exactly right for a birthday, an anniversary, a christening lunch, a dinner for the people you keep meaning to see, or a group who want the terrace to themselves on a Friday evening.
